Google Scholar

To Search Google Scholar:

  • Start on the Bio-Medical Library's web site and use the Quicklink to get into Google Scholar. This will guarantee that you will be able to connect to the full-text of articles from the Find It link.
  • Once you are in Google Schoar, click on the gear icon in the upper right-hand side of the screen and select Scholar Preferences.
  • Make sure the Library Links check-boxes are checked for University of Minnesota options and scroll down to the Bibliography Manager settings to enable import of citations from Google Scholar into RefWorks or EndNote:

  • Be sure to click on Save Preferences when finished

Google Scholar is looking for your exact word or phrase within the full-text of a resource (such as an article, book chapter, report). You are limited to certain commands within Google for running your search. Starting on the Advacnced Search screen can be helpful for starting your search.
