The Health Sciences Libraries provides access to well over 5,000 books in electronic format. Collection strengths include coverage in Nursing, Medicine, Public Health, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, and other health sciences areas. Mobile access is available for many e-books.  
 

Finding E-Books

To locate individual e-books, search the online catalog using the following three steps, or view the E-books Online Tutorial for additional assistance.

1. Enter a title, keyword, or author and click on the Search button.
2. Refine results by limiting to "Available Online" under Availability (on the left).
3. Refine again by selecting Books under Material Type.

Access Medicine
Access Medicine provides electronic access to over 75 medical titles covering internal medicine, pharmacology, pediatrics, surgery, and other the basic and clinical sciences. Self-Assessment and practice tests, diagnostic tests and patient education, Clerkship Corner, drugs and case files also available. Unlimited number of simultaneous users.

Books@OVID
Books@OVID contains hundreds of e-books in related to behavioral and social sciences, clinical medicine clinical medicine, health professions, life and biomedical sciences, patient education, and pharmacology. Unlimited number of simultaneous users.

CAB eBooks
CAB eBooks cover the applied life-sciences, featuring human health, food and nutrition, environmental sciences, and animal and veterinary sciences. Unlimited number of simultaneous users.

ClinicalKey
ClinicalKey contains over 1,100 medical and surgical reference texts. Titles cover over 36 medical specialties, including dentistry, infectious disease, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and surgery. Personal account features such as presentation tools, reading lists and more. Unlimited number of simultaneous users.

ebrary
ebrary includes internal medicine, public health and other health sciences handbooks, manuals, study guides, and examinations. Adobe Digital Editions required for downloading. Number of simultaneous users varies by title/resource.

EBSCO eBook Collection 
EBSCO eBook Collection provides over 1,200 health and medicine titles. Provides books on medical specialties, such as cardiology and neuroscience, as well as a broad variety of topics including health policy, health care delivery, health risk assessment and medical ethics, among others. Number of simultaneous users varies by title/resource.

Science Direct - Elsevier
Science Direct - Elsevier provides access to over 4,000 e-books in its health sciences collection, which coverw medicine and dentistry, nursing and health professions, pharmacology, toxicology and pharmaceutical science, and veterinary science and veterinary medicine. Unlimited number of simultaneous users.

Google Books
Includes millions of books scanned by Google. Searches include the full text of the books, and for those that are out of copyright, you may download a copy. In other cases, a preview is available, and links will take you to a nearby library so that you may borrow a copy. Avenues to purchase of a print or e-version of the book are also provided. A broad range of health-related books are included in this collection. Unlimited number of simultaneous users.

Hathi Trust Digital Archive
HathiTrust is a collaborative repository of digital content including millions of books and other materials. Search results include the catalog records, full text of the books, or individual collections. For items that are out of copyright, a copy can be downloaded for viewing. Health-related resources can be identified by searching on relevant keywords. Unlimited number of simultaneous users.

NCBI Bookshelf
NCBI Bookshelf provides free access to nearly 1,400 books and documents in the life sciences and healthcare. A service of the National Library of Medicine’s National Center for Biotechnology Information. Unlimited number of simultaneous users.

R2 Library
R2 Library is a health sciences e-book platform with content in medicine, nursing and allied health. Limited to one simultaneous user.

Springer E-Books
Springer offers over 25,000 electronic books covering a wide range of disciplines from several publishers. The health-related disciplines included in this collection are medicine, biomedical sciences, public health, psychology, and food science and nutrition. Life and physical sciences are also included. Stat!Ref
Stat!Ref offers the latest evidence-based resources in over 50 healthcare disciplines. Users can cross search across titles, journals and dictionaries and get results in relevance-ranked order. Titles include AHFS Drug Information, the ICD-9-CM, and the Red Book Report on Infectious Disease. Number of simultaneous users varies by title/resource.

Wiley Online Library

History of Medicine E-Book Collections

Early American Imprints Series I
Books, pamphlets, serials, and other printed works published in America 1639 - 1800 with 36,000 items. Based on Charles Evans, American Bibliography with additions from Roger Bristol's Supplement. A variety of health-related topics are represented in the collection. Example topics include alcoholism, human physiology, first aid, pharmacy, nutrition, and surgical instruments and apparatus. Unlimited number of simultaneous users.

Early American Imprints Series II
Books, pamphlets, and broadsides published in America from 1801 through 1819. Contains many state papers and government materials. Based on the American Bibliography by Ralph R. Shaw and Richard H. Shoemaker, which is now supplemented by thousands of new items. Health-related topics include dentistry, medicine, nutrition, pharmacology, surgery, traditional medicine, and human anatomy, among others. Unlimited number of simultaneous users.

Early English Books Online
Contains over 125,000 titles listed in Pollard & Redgrave's Short-Title Catalogue (1475-1640), Wing's Short-Title Catalogue (1641-1700), and the Thomason Tracts (1640-1661). Primary sources included in this collection can be searched or browsed to identify relevant health-related texts. Unlimited number of simultaneous users.

NLM Digital Collections
NLM Digital Collections is the National Library of Medicine's (NLM) free online archive of historical biomedical resources. The collection features access to many historical books, including the special collections, Cholera Online, Medicine in the Americas, and NIH Annual Reports. Unlimited number of simultaneous users.
