Within approximately the next two weeks, PubMed's interface will change to include a list of filters diplayed in the left sidebar. Filters will replace the previously separate limits page. As with limits, once applied filters remain activated until they are cleared. Unlike limits, filters will only display valid options within a given category. The Wangensteen Historical Library of Biology and Medicine is available for use by faculty, students, alumni and the general public. We provide individual consultations, group orientations, and up to one hour of research service at no cost per research request. We encourage the use of the collection for teaching and research. The perspectives of surgeons, physicians, and nurses are richly documented in the history of Civil War medicine. Yet the experiences of injured soldiers during the conflict and in the years afterwards are less well-known. A traveling NLM exhibit, Life and Limb: The Toll of the American Civil War will be on display in the Wangensteen Library through April 25, 2012.This exhibit focuses on disabled veterans and their role as symbols of the fractured nation. Canine and Feline Dermatology Drug Handbook, a new book by Drs. Sandra N. Koch, assistant clinical professor, Sheila F. Torres, associate professor, and Donald C. Plumb, a former director of pharmacy services and hospital director at the Veterinary Medical Center, will be published on April 10 by Wiley-Blackwell.
