About the Makerspace

The Makerspace is a student-driven innovation lab with maker equipment. Located in the Bio-Medical Library, the Makerspace provides free access to tools and expertise for all UMN Twin Cities faculty, staff and students.

Not familiar with the equipment? No problem! Visit us to learn about emerging technologies from your fellow students, or take a free workshop.

3D Printers

3D Printing and Design

Use software such as Tinkercad, Fusion 360 and Onshape and learn about 3D design and printing with our MonoPrice Select Mini v2 or our Prusa i3 Mk3.

Sewing Machine

Tools to Tinker

With access to sewing machines, robotics tools, vinyl cutters and more - you can repair clothing, learn basic programming, or create a custom graphic design element.
