Instructor support

Library instruction sessions prepare students to find, evaluate and utilize health sciences information found through library research tools. Librarians partner with UMN faculty to create sessions relevant to course assignments such as group projects and research papers.

Examples of instructional collaboration

  • Provide in-class instruction on evidence-based practice, library resources, research skills, and citation managers,
  • offer individualized consultations for instructors,
  • develop customized resource pages for courses,
  • identify materials and create resources to support courses,
  • connect instructors to expertise and tools in the Makerspace and Virtual Reality Studio where students can design and prototype tools and experience virtual and augmented environments for teaching and learning, and
  • reduce or remove student costs for course readings by purchasing e-books and/or identifying open educational resources.
