Health Sciences Library news

  • We’re hiring our ‘One Health’ librarian team

The Health Sciences Library (HSL) is launching a search for two librarian positions to work together as a team to provide core librarian expertise to two health sciences colleges/schools at the University of Minnesota. We welcome experienced librarians, librarians who are new to the field, and those with another advanced degree and relevant experience to apply. Applications will be accepted now through midnight on March 20, 2026.

  • Introducing the new popular reading collection at the Health Sciences Library

For several years now Wilson, Walter and Magrath Libraries have had popular reading collections for users to check out a great new read from both fiction and non-fiction genres. The Health Sciences Library is the latest university library to add a popular reading collection for our community.

  • Blind Date With a Book is back in February 2026

Visit participating University of Minnesota libraries -including Walter, Wilson, Health Sciences, Magrath and more this Valentine’s Day (February 10 until they last) and find the display of books. Read the descriptions, admire the art and select a book wrapped up just for you. Check the book out with your U Card, take it home, unwrap it, and fall in love. We check out hundreds of books to Gophers who are looking for something new to read.
